I'm here a lot

I took a look at Radioworld (Toronto) prices versus Scannermaster (Boston, USA).

With Radioworld the 260DN price is $529+tax=$597 to get it out of the store, and you have to be patient for their stock to arrive.
Scannermaster has them in stock now for $349 USD or ~$478 Canadian at todays rate. I'm not sure about what extra charges there may be.

The scanners do not trunk track. But they may make excellent air/milair and RR scanners.
They do analog plus DMR and NXDN.

I want it for ham radio repeater monitoring on 10m,6m,2m and 70cm.
The fire in Trent Hills,Northumberland County,Ontario is still analog.
Campbellford Memorial Hospital is DMR.
Other townships are DMR, as is their Public Works.
VIA rail in Cobourg,Ontario,45 minutes SW of here may have some NXDN.
Don’t need P25 or trunking, so it would do me fine.

According to Scanner Master’s website: US$349.99+$.105.50=US$455.49

CA$622.76

1 U.S. $=1.36723 Apr.27,2024.

There may be brokerage fees, etc also.

I am happy with both 160 and 260 added to my 325Pp2's 996P2's 436's 536's, SDS100's and SDS200
How does the BCD260DN receive on the air bands? I have 2 SDS200's which the audio's sound terrible. Sensitivity seems fine but the audio sounds like it is being clipped on both.

My SDS 100 is amazing on air. Sounds ok and the range is the absolute best, can listen to planes and towers 150 km away.

Radioworld has the Uniden BCD260DN in stock - finally.

However, there is a notice that those experiencing payment errors are to contact them via email and phone.

Just my luck.

So I’ll update this post tomorrow.

Anyone had a chance to evaluate/compare battery life on the 160DN vs the 325P2 on DMR and NXDN ?

Being a non-trunking scanner, I would expect the current drain being less than on the battery-hungry 325P2.

Anyone here in Ontario got their hands on this new radio?
gymbag-STAY away from it as it is NOT Digital P25 as MOST people think. It is more designed for NXDN/Railroad frequencies and NOT a replacement for the Uniden Bearcat BCT-15X but get that for non-digital and at a good price point of between $169-$174 give or take.
Hope I helped you and buy from Amazon/Police Scanner Outlet in Maryland to save from the Massachusetts firm.

First this the Ontario forum so I’m not ordering it from the States as the dollar and duty will inflate the price. I did order one as my County fire is DMR so this works well for me. Took me about 10 minutes to program it by hand. With the pending roll out of the new PSRN radio system I won’t be needing much more than this radio.
