You can program with aftermarket software . downloading from software OK , but reading from scanner gives a error . I am unable to use Uniden BCD260DN ss . I wasted $ 350.00 .

I noticed it's your first post after almost 8 years of forum membership. So, I'd like to assist, if possible, I notice another user replied to you as well @kitchent I'm by no means an expert or a super user, but I'm 100% capable of programming these devices ---- more often than not it's an easy fix, ie a cable that works, selecting the correct device, and having the correct software.

Slightly off topic: One could be surprised, a ham radio programming cable can look a lot like a scanner programming cable - but they don't work interchangeably

I don't own this scanner, nor it's base/mobile sibling. However, Uniden does have a free software download.

ProScan & ARC260 are paid software programs. These would give you RR database import capability if you are a premium subscriber (you do show as 'premium').

ARC260, ProScan, and Uniden BCDX60DN_SS. The free Uniden software does not have the capability of downloading from the Radio Reference database. You can also program it manually, but using software is so much faster and easier.

Except the BCD160DN doesn't decode P25. It only does NXDN and DMR (and analog of course).

Will the BCD160DN decode digital DMR and NXDN? i guess i'm confused some because DMR Conventional is still digital correct? for example would it be able to decode THIS ? Thanks

Yes it can, however it does not have the Trunk tracking capacity.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The BCD160DN will NOT trunk track so I'm hoping for your sake that said "digital frequencies" are P25, DMR and/or NXDN conventional

will the bcd160dn decode This DMR i want to buy one but i need to listen to that dmr i know it's not a trunking system but i'm unsure if the scanner will decode that . any help anyone?

Yes, it'll decode conventional networked DMR just fine. As I mentioned when you quoted me It cannot do MotoTRBO trunked (it'll decode voice channels if programmed conventionally but won't be able to follow the conversation)

Yes, digital = DMR, NXDN, PV, P25 (the latter two the 160DN won't decode at all)

No. As I told you before the 160DN does NOT handle P25 at all

I was being silly. It won't do P25 of any sort.

And in case you missed it, IT WON"T DO P25 OF ANY SORT.

Ok man i wish it would i guesss i'm gonna look at the bcd325p2 only downsided there is i have topay for the upgrades... google says the 325p2 will decode p25 simulcast anyone know if that it true?
