Can anyone recommend a car mount(cup holder type) for this unit?

A phone holder will work. It can be mounted in a cup holder and the scanner is used instead of a phone. They also come with suction cups you attach to the windshield.

I use a Lamicall Car Vent Phone Mount - Air Vent Clip Holder I found on Ama-of the-zon. I have used this in a Nissan Rogue and Hyundai Tucson. No batteries in the scanner and the power cable sits above the mount. I took off the belt clip and put the screws back in.
It may not work in every car or truck. There was another one I used that I last saw in a Dollar Tree store. It has one rubber connector on the back. I do not leave it mounted when not is use due to the high heat where I live now.

I just use my cell phone holder. 325P2,346XT/396XT all fit in it fine. This is the one I have-
Prior to that mount I actually cut a piece of PVC house trim to the size of a cell phone and attached a CB microphone mount type bracket to it, which holds the "knob" on the back of the 346/396 fine. I usd a doubled up rubber band around it for the 325P2 since it has a different clip on the back. The PVC bracket went right into the cell phone holder and worked great

Are you using just the attached antenna or are you using an external antenna? What kind of car? Do you have a center cup holder? My truck has the center folded down with 3 cup holders. I put my radios (325P2 or R30) in center cup holder with antenna extended up. Am assuming you have a center cup holder. Just set it in there with some kind of cut padding to keep it from rocking around. Cheap and easy. But there are allot of cell phone holders out there to choose from if your set on that.
