I am curious as to whether or not the following would be considered "normal" operation:
When P25 trunking transmissions are initiated I hear one or two brief, but very noticible, clicks. This will happen on the first transmission on each frequency, so when a call transitions from one repeater to another, the first transmission on the new repeater will have the click noise. This happens ONLY on P25 transmissions, not analog. Here is a URL to an audio sample of these clicks:
http://ColoradoRadio.home.comcast.net/clicks.wav
Here is a transcript of the audio sample detailing where you need to listen for these clicks:
clicks Officer: "Affirm"
Dispatcher: "1940, break 220 i'll show you available"
(transition to new P25 trunked repeater)
clicks Officer: "OK"
Dispatcher: "1940"
Officer: "211 arrival"
(transition to new P25 trunked repeater)
click Dispatcher: "1940"
I'm curious so that I can exchange the unit if this is not normal operation before the store warranty expires.
