BCD396T Screen Locking Up

for me it seems like it only does it when the scanner is plugged in with batteries inside (charge setting turned off). I started removing the batteries from the scanner a few nights ago when i have the unit plugged into the wall and haven't had a lock-up since. I will start logging my future lock-ups to help pinpoint the exact problem.

Mine Started having this problem this morning after using it for about a week.
Powering on and off only seemed to get it running for about 5 to 10 minutes.
I pulled the bateries for a minute and the put them back. this seemed to stop the problem.
I'm hoping I wont need to return it. I expected better from a $500 scanner!

Mine hasn't done it a along time, and the display just locked up just. The only thing I can figure this time was I unplugged the DC power and changed the antenna without powering it off. This time.
