BCD436HP/BCD536HP: BCD436HP LED Screen

I received a BCD436HP from a deceased friend and it has the dim screen bot sure about the clock. He must did not send it in. I sent mine in and they fixed all that during a campaign. Does anyone know if Uniden is still fixing 436HP with the dim screens?

Yes, they still do repairs. Look up Uniden Flat Rate Repair. There are numerous threads on it.

The free repair for the clock ended, but they will repair for the flat rate.

When the clock battery failed, you had to program the date and time every time you turned on the scanner to get it to work. Uniden did a firmware update which would give you time to enter the date and time and then it would begin scanning without entering the date and time. If the scanner goes directly to scanning without stopping to enter the date and time and the date and time are current, the battery should be OK. If your scanner has the clock battery problem, tape a note to the scanner that it needs both the clock battery and dim display fixed.
