Here we go What are the advantages to upgrade your SD card to a faster one other then reading/writing process and storage? Thanks in Advance.

Speed is not an issue. If you want to upgrade, you should move to a High Endurance SD Card. The High Endurance Card will give you more read and write cycles. So it should last longer.

So its just so the card will last longer ? with card prices there has to be more than that i can get a class 10 for 12 bucks and getting cheaper as i post but thanks for the reply.Now the Endurance Card is 50 lol

Nice thank you but whats the advantages to upgrade your SD will it scan faster ??

It won't scan faster, but the card will last significantly longer than a standard card, because it can handle more writes before failing.

As noted above, the high endurance cards are preferable because they tolerate more read/write cycles. Kinda like being able to buy vehicle tires that will last 150,000 miles instead of 75,000 miles.


Now if you can get a high endurance card that is faster, you could notice a slight benefit. If you have several Favorites Lists that are loaded when you power up the scanner, a faster SD card will hasten the load time. But that's the only benefit to a faster card.

The one I linked is a class 10, which is faster than the scanner itself. So bootup is about as short as it can be.

The best way to keep the scanner fast is to not load it down with a ton of audio files. Clear up the clutter once in a while.

Amen to that!! Back when I got my first 436HP, I recorded everything. After a while, I began to notice performance issues with it. Met up with a friend who suggested just what you said. Transferred the audio files to an external hard drive and the scanner started acting like new again.

Since I do not believe this is in the owners manuals for SD card based scanner maybe the Wiki would be a place to put such information, perhaps under maintaining scanner efficiently or something like that.
