OK I checked and agree that it is happening in the scanner. Seems odd to me that they would design the software for P25p2 and miss the frequency display, even in so many firmware updates, but so be it.
Still like to know what error rate is ok and when I should be getting worried. I broadcast this and sometimes it gets really hard to hear the traffic as it breaks up. Also, it is hit and miss on a tactical talk group. I get complaints that people are missing some tactical traffic, so have had to add back the old EDACS system that runs in parallel to the new P25 one. I'm sure they will shut the EDACS down at some point so would like to get that solved. As I type this, I found one frequency with consistently lower RSSI than the rest (low 300s vs mid 400s). Wonder if that could be part of the problem.
I'm not well versed on digital trunking, so will be learning from doing this and hearing from you guys.
Thanks!

I did a test just now using File Explorer & a text editor and not Sentinel. It looks like it gets changed when going in to Menu - Manage Favorites - [any favorite] - Review/Edit System then the scanner displays a processing message and that is when the 5 is dropped.

My test consisted of:
1. Put scanner in Mass Storage mode
2. Loaded a text editor then edited the f_000001.hpd file
3. Changed a T-Freq frequency to 769168750
4. Saved the f_000001.hpd file
5. Power cycled the scanner and put in Mass Storage mode then verified 769168750 hasn't changed
6. Power cycled the scanner in put in Serial Port mode
7. Menu - Manage Favorites - Favorite 001 - Review/Edit System. scanner message "Processing..."
8. Put scanner in Mass Storage mode
9. Edited the f_000001.hpd file. Sure enough, the 769168750 got changed to 769168700

{edit} That's one way the 5 gets dropped. Could be other ways too such as loading the Favorites.

Thank you for the effort on this.
A bit ago, you and I had an exchange of messages on this. Now, I owe you an apology - at the time, I thought it was ProScan, and it seems it wasn't.

I expect you two guys to speak up when this comes up again in two weeks. :ROFLMAO:

Engineers (me anyway) tend to be quite AR (xxxx retentive). Those little details in my biz can bite you. I suppose this is just an intellectual curiosity thing (what is actually doing this, even though it doesn't do diddly to the actual RX).
