BCD996P2 assistance in SEMO

Ok so i am new here but not complete radio newbe. Have not really messed with scanners much so please be nice.
Bought a bearcat bcd996p2 because it claims to be plug and play with close call capture and auto store. Needless to say it is not that easy.
My first question is does anyone have a file i could shoot to it to get me started and have a base to work off of. I do have the programing software from Uniden and the cable and have been able to successfully link with it. I live in SEMO, Sikeston to be specfic. Thanks in advancefor any help you could send my way.

What software do you have from Uniden for a bcd996p2?

Further to what you’ve already discovered, the 996 is not plug and play, and close-call is only for detecting the signals being transmitted very close to the scanner.

You will need to program it for what you want (as you have discovered).
