I been getting a simulcast system with only 2 towers with no problems but here lately I can still get 851 MHz good err is 8-11 but when it get 858-860 is bad distorted the err is up to 60 but it was like 8-11 I even turned on the attenuator but that didn't help the system hasn't changed, What could be wrong

Try the multipath mitigation suggestions linked here, you may or may not find one that works for you. Does the same simulcast come in any better on your SDS200?

I had good success with my BCD996P2 using a low cost yagi available on Amazon for $25 us
698-894Mhz Yagi Antenna
UPC 700358996979
By experimenting with mounting height and the direction the yagi is pointing chances are good you can null out one of the transmitting towers. One thing to note is in this case higher is not better. What you are trying to do is make one of the towers dominate and let FM capture do the rest.

it might help to know what system you are monitoring. When you mention frequencies like that, it makes me wonder whether it's programmed correctly. That might not help with the simulcast issues, but at least we'd know what system is giving you trouble

On the SDS 200 gets those frequencies but 851 is distorted the 996P2 is good at 851 and 858-860 is distorted they are the opposite are they something wrong with the scanners

1. Please post system (assuming Palmetto 800?) and site(s) in question
2. How far away from you from said site(s) & how many signal bars on average?
3. Have you tried different filters per site on the SDS200?

If I remember the OP is trying to receive some sites 40 to 60 miles away and also has some elevation issues. The problem the OP may be having is the SDS200 has a tinny sound Digital Signals and the 996p2 has the deep bass sound on Digital Signals.
As ask for Post the SYSTEM and your GENERAL LOCATION again for us to see

Yes, 40 to 60 miles will be a stretch for an 800mhz site. Less of an issue for VHF/UHF depending on topography between you and TX site(s)

Morning Tvengr not certain but the OP have Elevation problems with the that Site remembering from older post.
Good morning! Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. OP must have a mountain blocking that site or he is located in a crater. The site isn't simulcast so that is not a factor. I wonder if he tried the Tinker Creek site. I seriously doubt he will hear units in his area using the Spartanburg site.

Me too! I once heard someone in Florida say that anything higher than 5 feet above sea level is considered mountainous.
True, been here forever. The highest slope I've seen is the drainage swale in my front yard. No road curbs here.
