BCD996T Firmware Update for KY

I have recently heard all the discussion on the following post. Some are saying that the update is worse some saying better. It seems that is has occasionally dealing with a specific system. I was just wondering if anyone in KY has done the update and had positive (or negative) results with KSP?

KSP sounds good with the update. I can pick up Northern KY KSP from my post. I say as long as you follow the instructions and set the AGC tweaks correctly, you are good to go. Maybe others will chime in with their experiences, Hope this helps

I did mine yesterday and i didn't notice anything different and ksp saound's good and now better after the up date

Does this update cure the KSP "motorboat" discussed in other threads?

Steve, I do not have a motor boat issue with KSP, at all, not even once. I have not seen the thread you are referring to, but, I think the key is you need to set the audio type to "digital" and not "all". When I have them as "all" I get it, with them set to "digital" it is non existent.

Thanx Steve.... I don't have a 996 or 396 but a couple of my friends use them and have had the problem.... Thanx for the "cure"...

Updated my 996 with no problems. The upgrade for the 396 seems to carry an issue with the audio on KSPs P25 system. Even when trying to tweak it the audio remains choppy. I re-installed the previously released firmware and no problems, both audio and sensitivity. Hopefully Uniden will examine this new firmware and address the issues.
