BCD996XT TGID's

I have a bcd996xt, I entered a TGID for example 1483 and set this sight to ID scan, when receiveing transmissions I get ID: displays of i4078 and others for this programed Police Dept. Should I enter all the
i #### ID:s into the TGID, I can do this by pushing the .No button twice which gives me the i and then the numder after. Do's this have anything to to with the TGID.

The "i" numbers are just the radio ids of who is talking. They aren't tied into the talk group in anyway.

Tgid/uid

Does this have anything to to with the TGID.

You may be confusing TGID (Trunk Group ID) with UID (Unit ID).

If you don't have all of the TGID's programmed yet, ID Search will reveal the TGID's as it scans them.

If you DO have all of the TGID's programmed, ID Scan will scan the TGID's you have entered and ignore the rest.

The UID (Unit ID), if you have "Disp. Unit ID" option ON in SETTINGS, shows the individual radio that's transmitting in certain trunked systems.

To enter TGID's sequentially;

MENU->Program System->ENTER->Select System->ENTER->Edit Group->ENTER->Select Group->ENTER->Edit Channel->ENTER->Select Channel->ENTER->NEW Channel->Input TGID->XXXX->ENTER->New Channel->Enter TGID->YYYY->ENTER, etc. ....until all TGID's are entered.

Use MENU to back out or just hit SCAN

As an example, CT State Police TGID's are shown in the DEC column:
