They have the model numbers incorrect in the Radio Shack listings.

Uniden Scanners - The RadioReference Wiki

The cheaper one should be: BCT15

The more expensive one (newest model) should be: BCT15X

There is no such thing as a BCT15XT, that's why you could not find any info on it.

I assume you got the older model if you bought the first one, the cheaper one.

Looks like a real mystery right now. They have the specs all screwed up on the listings too. They list both as 9000 channels and the older 15 only has 2500. Those specs you copied there really don't give any clue that I can see right off.

Guess you will have to wait and see what you get. I hope they cover the shipping if you have to send it back.

Well that's not a bad deal then. Somebody should send them the links to the wiki pages on here and tell them to straighten out the listings.:D

I tried to, but he wouldn't do it, but I did get him to go to Uniden's web site to see there was no BCT15XT model, but He said there was a XT model because it was listed on other site's also.

Maybe UPMan can fix the problem with these site's, as far as the model #'s go.

A scanner is only as good as it gives. I got the 15x, and for an analog scanner-it's the b^lls. I got a ferret attatched to it, and it is too sensitive to carry-over signals. If a freq is 155.250 40 miles away, and a p25 signal is 155.2575-- 4 miles away, it carries over...I got that situation on so many freqs..

That listing is in error and was provided by a third party. They are in the process of correcting this.
