Now that we've had this discussion on a buzzing sound you're hearing, I started paying a little more attention to my scanner when a frequency gets hit on.
What I'm hearing, and it's not on all channels, and it seems to be on the frequencies that are furthest away is a slight hum sound. A steady, very subtle hum when squelch is broken and there's talking going on. It lasts until the signal is lost/talking stops and the mike is unkeyed (if that's the right word to use?!?)

It's certainly not a "buzzing" sound to me but I guess it could be to you.
I have a feeling what you're hearing is louder/worse than the hum I'm hearing on my scanner though...

Some of the frequencies that I listen to also have a buzzing noise after the transmissions end a lot of the time. In these cases, it's DMR interference getting into the input of the analog repeaters, which as anyone who hears it knows, is quite annoying. I wonder if that's not what's happening with the OP of this thread?

Volt, is there any way you can record this noise and post it here? Can you also list some of the frequencies this occurs on and their PL/DPL tones?

Right now there really isn't enough information to go on. You could be hearing another station on the same frequency, interference from some local electronic device, or it could possibly be the DPL turn-off code as I suggested earlier.

Also, can you manually tune to these frequencies (press Hold --> enter frequency --> Hold) and see if the noise is present? This way the scanner will hear anything on the frequency, not just the agency transmitting the correct PL/DPL. If the noise is present, can you post a recording of it?
