Can anyone tell me if the control channel frequencies need to be programed in the same bank as talk group ids? I received a scanner that was pre programed. Most of my area is in bank 10. Bank 10 has all the talk group ids from my area and the control channels as well. It scans and works great. Our area has yet to go digital. I leave all the other banks off. I see some other talk group ids I am interested in monitoring in bank 4. I do not see the trunk frequencies. Should I program the trunk frequencies in the other banks even if they are duplicates?

If the talkgroups in bank 4 are using the same control channel frequencies (same site), it is better to add them to a group in bank 10. You want to avoid scanning the same site multiple times. That will result in missing transmissions and clipping the beginning of transmissions. What system and talkgroups do you have in banks 4 & 10 so I can take a look at the database?
