Bearcat 211 receiving off frequency

I have a very nice old Bearcat 211. After I program a UHF frequency, it is receiving 10 khz lower.
A VHF frequency is received 4 khz low. Is there an alignment or component that can be changed to correct?

Nothing can be changed. It will still receive it audio might be a touch lower.

My Bearcat 210 has what appears to be a reference oscillator crystal (Y1) with a trimmer cap next to it. If you can locate it in your scanner, you can try adjusting the trimmer to warp the crystal back on frequency. Crystals usually decrease in frequency as they age.

My Bearcat 210 has what appears to be a reference oscillator crystal (Y1) with a trimmer cap next to it. If you can locate it in your scanner, you can try adjusting the trimmer to warp the crystal back on frequency. Crystals usually decrease in frequency as they age.
If you're going to try this, I'd suggest using a signal generator to generate a weak signal as a reference. If you don't have access to a signal generator, use an NWS transmitter, preferably with the antenna removed from the scanner (as long as you can still receive the signal). Take note of the original position of the trimmer capacitor, and tweak it gently one way or the other until the signal is received as clearly as possible.

Obviously this should really be done following the proper procedure with all the proper equipment, but the above method is a quick-and-ditry workaround.
