Hello all,

Earlier today I was out performing frequency searches in the Latham, NY area and I came across what appears to be a change for the Bennington County Sheriff's Department. I logged them in on 155.580 MHz. with a CTCSS of 151.4 Hz. The signal was weak and scratchy, but was readable at times. I logged this in a year or two ago but back then I got a DCS code; 212 I think. I don't know if this was changed or if this is a different repeater in a different location within the county.

Are you sure that's not the input to the new Washington County repeater on Prospect?

I'm at one of my jobs right now so I can't check my paper notes.

It was definately a repeater output, though it was weak. Units working were 58 and 53 (I believe) and they were calling in to 'Bennington County'. All of the traffic was vehicle registration and license checks, and it was all Vermont reg/license info.

155.580 is indeed bennington county sherrif's output frequency. Try this frequency 460.125 and see if u can receive Bennington Police Dept. Also 460.450

From my location in Latham, I know I can't hear Bennington PD on 460.125. All I usually get is Rensselaer PD; they are on the same frequency. Bald Mountain in Brunswick, NY blocks my path to Mt. Anthony, and I can't hear much of anything from Bennington. Bennington Rural FD on 154.265 comes in very scratchy. But if I go over to my parent's place in Niskayuna, Bennington comes in loud and clear. Funny.

The only things I have heard on 460.450 in the past was Rutland County SO using 127.3 for a CTCSS tone, and they are very weak and scratchy, usually unreadable from Latham.

Is there a sheriff's office that uses 460.025 somewhere in this part of the state? Several months ago I though I heard sheriff's traffic on this channel but it was very weak. I know VSP Royalton uses this for dispatch.
