Welcome to the forums. Many different variables as outlined above. I'll add "is mounting outdoors an option?" Everyone's radio environment differs so we'll need specifics from you as to where you are (Manheim where?), what/who you intend on monitoring, etc. Specific info goes a long way to help us help you

Best antenna for Uniden sds200???
I have had good luck with the following antennas:

For base operations:

I would recommend using LMR400 coax from the antenna to the scanner: Times Microwave LMR-400 - RG8/LMR-400/9913/RG213 Cable | The Antenna Farm

For mobile operations:

A mount will be needed for the mobile antenna: Mobile Antenna Mounts | The Antenna Farm

What is the difference between the two Larsen antennas?

What is the difference between the two Larsen antennas?

The NMO150/450/758 version has a spring on the base and a more flexible whip.
The NMO150/450/800 is an older model, no spring and a stiffer whip.

Either one will work fine. If you have a taller vehicle, the -758 would be a better choice.
You can often find the -800 version to be less expensive.

Yes as a mag mount on a out side window AC, I have 3 of them on my bed room AC works fine for the last 17 years. I have swapped them for new a few times.

Can you use one of these mobile antennae's for a SDS200 Uniden base?

Yes, or, if you don't have an A/C unit handy, you can buy NMO base mount adapters. It'll allow you to mount it on the mast, it supplies the ground plane the antenna wants to see, and gives you a place to connect your own coaxial cable.

Ahhh that's what I thought. Thanks for your reply! I'm considering purchasing

NMO150/450/758 - Pulse Larsen Tri Band Antenna with Spring, NMO

I can't determine the coaxial cable length. Any idea?

Not sure what you mean? The base station adapter does not come with coax. The one I linked to just has a female N connector on the bottom. Buy suitable cable for the length you need with an N Male connector on the antenna end. If you use a larger cable, like RG-8 or LMR-400, you'd also want to use a small flexible jumper to make the connection to your radio.

Yup that is what I mean. I put the units on the outside AC unit and run the coax through the window sill. I seal it all up so no air leaks from the out side during the winter. So far so good for 17 years...

Thanks Steve. I ordered:

NMO150/450/758 - Pulse Larsen Tri Band Antenna with Spring, NMO

Can you recommend a 20ft cable to attach to my Uniden SDS200 and to this antennae? Thanks!
