Best Audio Cables.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the Best Audio Cable Would be . Right now I just Have some Cheap RS Audio Cable for a Live Audio Feed I have Setup . Just wondering if there is Something Better out there . Let me know . Thanks .

Enviroment would be High RF . Other Computers and Other Trainsmitters in the Same Location as the Feed Equipment .

Ok , Copy . Hast to be Something better out there than Radio Shack Junk , lol . The Old RS Does not have the Good Stuff Like they Used to anymore .

My guess is any shielded twisted pair will do the job.

ok , I have 2 Audio Feeds up and Running . About every 2 to 3 Months I haft to Replace the Audio Cable . This is the Cable that Go's from your Feed Radio to the Line In Jack on your Computer Soundcard .
I am Also Looking into New Sound Cards for the Computers . But the Main Problem is the Audio Cable .

Unless you're constantly connecting/disconnecting the cable (or jumping rope with it) cable normally doesn't go bad. Why are you having to replace the cable?

I don't do anything with the Cable . I get it , Connect it to the Radio and Computer Sound Card Line In Jack and Walk Away . Plus I'm Looking for A Better Cable Because the Audio Feeds are Setup Near High Power Trainsmitters and Other Devices .

Since your sound card (and scanner output) are not a balanced line don't worry about that. A good braided shielded cable will work just fine. As for keeping the RF out, be sure to properly ground the chassis of all gear.

I use ok cables...stuff you can buy at shack...my cable too are like 10 yrs old...and the whole time I ran a server , I had no probs cable wise...I dunno what to tell ya

You mentioned balanced but most computer sound cards are unbalanced as in 1/8" stereo plugs. If RF is getting into your audio its probably not from inadequate shielding, its more likely common mode currents traveling on the outside of the cable. Wrapping lots of turns around a ferrite core at each end can help as well as transformer coupling into the sound card. Some cheap plated audio connectors corrode easily and will make intermittent connection. Deoxit from Caig Labs will fix this.
