Best P25 Phase 2 Scanner with Record Out

My local emergency services will be moving to P25 Phase II this coming summer, and I got a nice bonus at work so am thinking about buying a new scanner so I can be ready for the move next year. I currently broadcast to Broadcastify using a Bearcart 996 XT. Because I like to listen to the scanner as its sending out to Broadcastify I use the Record Out jack on the back of the unit to feed the audio out to my Broadcastify encoder.

I am looking around and was going to get a Uniden SDS200 but I notice it has an External Speaker output but no record output. I fear that plugging in the External Speaker Jack will disable the main speaker in the scanner.

So can anyone recommend a GOOD scanner that is easy to program that can handle P25 P II and LTR Trunking (for their existing setup) that has a Record Output please let me know.

If it’s going to be simulcast you’re pretty limited to the SDS series. TDMA Phase II there is a real possibility it will be simulcast, but I don’t know where you are located so I can’t be certain of that. Hopefully someone will be able to give you better answers, but I was under the impression the 200 can stream from the USB(s). Full disclosure I don’t own a SDS so I could be entirely wrong, I’m only sharing what I’ve read. Perhaps someone can confirm or give you better information. Worth looking into for sure.

I guess having the audio from the scanner play through the computer speakers isn't an option?

Also, you need to determine whether the upgraded system is simulcast. Whether it is simulcast or not is right up there in importance next to whether it is Phase 2 or Phase 1. Only a few hobbyist-level receivers are considered fully compatible with simulcast. For streaming at a stationary location, one option to consider is SDR software which can handle simulcast along with a USB receiver dongle.

If you use PROSCAN and the SDS200 the COMPUTER records all the audio, talkgroup and user id.

Does DSD+ do multiple systems including LTR Trunking Phase 2 Trunking and Conventional I do not use it so I do not know. Also the OP stated SDS200 in the original post.

Yes it does, at least I think it does Tetra, but P2 definitely . No tetra here to test.

It is a scanner if you are on a P1 or P2 system, full tracking and he more than likely has a PC.

I run a Pi4 with OP25 in my car and consider it as a scanner also because I heare everything and can lock things out to what I want to hear

So I run dsd + fastlane a a base scanner and a Pi4 with Op25 as a mobile On a Pi4 with a 3.5 inch touch screen, what makes them not scanners? Inquiring minds need to know. It's easy Bud, you don't what to or know how to do it so it must be B## lS#it
