Best Software fir SDR Play?

I just got an SDR Play used on Ebay and am looking for recommendations as to which software will let me exploit it to it's fullest. I am experienced with SDR dongles and mainly use SDR# but have experimented with others. Currently I have it running with SDR# which I downloaded from thr SDR Play website. I think mine is an older one because it has an F connector and light colored case instead of the black case and SMA connector I see in newer pictures.

You have the 1st gen original model of the SDRplay as noted by the color of the casing and the F-connector but it should work just as well as the newer model with the black casing and SMA-connector. Internally I believe they're basically the same hardware (not 100% sure on that, however) so there shouldn't be any software compatibility issues except for SDR# usage which requires you to use build 1361 - newer builds simply won't connect to SDRplay to make use of it (when SDR# is running the titlebar of the window will plainly show you the build/version number).

I have had a great experience with HDSDR. Using the step-by-step instructions from the SDRPlay website it was easy to install and works great.

I have diddles a bit with a couple others but so far I still like HDSDR best.
