I went ahead and order the WS-1095 today and I figured I start on my config files while I wait. I'm well versed in scanner programming but I can say the WS1095 software leaves a lot to be desired. I have the Pro-668 that I recently purchased and I have that pretty much figured out since I use it on the go. The 1095 will be used in the shack stationary. Unlike Win500 were I can select Stationary or Roam, all I see is the Hi-Lo Multisite threshold. I plan to monitor the DOD 380"system and I'm within range of several sites. What is the trick to programming the sites so I can have it scan them all or just the closet to me? I hope this will not be some major science project just to have it scan all or some of the sites I want. I'm sure one of the ways is to simply put all the control channels in one listing if I wanted to scan them all.

P.S. How is it we aren't allowed to move channels & talkgroups UP or DOWN like we can in Win500. This should be a basic software feature.

Each site as a separate scan list.

I agree the ability to sort within a scan list for example would be nice. But is it a deal breaker ... no.

I was afraid of that :(
Guess I'm use to the Freescan / Win500 way of doing things. Going to play with the software and think about this.

Best way to program Multi-sites?

I do it different. Instead of having all SITES loaded from a System and trying to put the talk-groups in different scanlists? I just have 12 totally different V-Scanner folders each with a different individual SITE only. Just one that can be rec'd. The other sites interfere no matter if you have the scanlist OFF or not. You can see it happen if you have two sites close to you. There's no way to change the SYSTEM/SITES on the scanner out on the road. Sites interfere with others. I have 12 different set-ups and county SITES. Some attenuated *on EZScan software settings, some not. There's so much room on these MicroSD cards, I prefer to do it this way by creating a "new configuration" restoring my saved data from archive and having only one SITE on that new V-scanner folder. Works pretty fast on the fly as easy as scrolling to V-scanner and scanning the new SITE with all pertinent talk-groups and conventional freqs. Using the "optimize" function on the menu of EZScan puts all talk-groups in order, same with conventional freqs. I don't know about moving them up or down?

Selecting Stationary or Roam is not a EZScan software issue. It is a radio design issue. the PSR-800, WS-1080 and WS-1095 do not have the feature of selecting how the scanner scans sites. That was dropped after the PSR-500.

The reasons for the short comings of the EZScan software has been explained by Don Starr on this Forum in a different post. Off the top of my head I don't remember which post but it was about 2 weeks ago.

Thanks for the link. I'm still curious on why they would drop Roam and Stationary functions. I'll have to adapt or this will drive me crazy.

I agree with you. Up here in Ohio I loaded the entire MARCS-IP system which uses duplicate frequencies for control and alternative between towers. As a result I get lots of wrong towers showing as the source of signal. I don't think anyone on RR has asked the "powers to be" why the roam and stationary functions were dropped.

After giving it some serious though I changed my order. Being in a multisite area I couldn't deal with the lack of features to include basic software restrictions. Sure I could have done some of the work-around suggestions. Maybe down the road when or if things improve. My options are always open and I like what I see in the 1095.
