Are NPS Operations for Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area still on 163.075 MHz with a PL of 114.8? I typically listen to Great Smoky Mountains National Park on their linked P25 vhf system and on the TACN & VIPER Trunking Systems. Just wondering if the information is still current or have they switched frequencies or went P25? Also does Big South Fork have their own Dispatch or does one of the local agencies provide dispatching services? I could not find any information on this. GSMNP Communications typically runs from 6 AM to 12 or 1230 AM, but sometimes they close up shop earlier as it gets deeper into the Winter season. Most LE Rangers also out of service by the time communications goes out of service as well. But after they go out of service they have Gatlinburg TN PD Dispatch monitor their radio and sometimes they have Blount County TN 911 or Blue Ridge Parkway Dispatch monitor the radio traffic for park communications in case anyone with NPS needs assistance. I doubt I can receive Big South Fork from my location but it’s worth a try.
