Found this, fairly recent article.

Ch. 5 - 464.500 - PL 151.4 - Max 35 watts
Ch. 6 - 464.550 - PL 151.4 - Max 35 watts
Ch. 7 - 469.500 - PL 151.4 - Max 2 watts
Ch. 8 - 469.550 - PL 151.4 - Max 2 Watts

It is noted that they use an Icom F40LT. The radio has three power settings, 1 watt, 2 1/2 watts, and 5 watts. They are to use the lowest setting that will complete communication.

Call sign is WPPH287. It was noted that there was not a VHF - High band radio on the blimp. They were not using the VHF-High frequencies that I have heard before for ground comms. I will list the VHF freqs licensed to Goodyear under this callsign, but there was no sign of them using these at this event.

27.490 - 35 Watts
35.040 - 35 Watts
43.040 - 35 Watts

Looks like the Metlife blimp is covering tonight's (12/14/08) Raven's game.
It is now half-time and I haven't heard anything from the blimp.

I don't have anything on the Met Life blimps yet.

Here we go Steelers ............. Here we go

I shouldn't have done that, but I couldn't resist. (Whats the point of a good rivalry if you can't gloat a little?)

During half time I did a quick search for Metlife blimp freqs and came up
with the following:
463.0375, 463.7125, 465.8875, 465.9125, 465.9375, 465.9625 and 466.0375

I monitored those, along with 123.025, and didn't hear anything. Since I'm
in northern Anne Arundel county I feel confident that I should be able to
hear the blimp if I was on the right freq.

Now I wonder who the blimp might talk to? Their ground crew, BWI, not
local but national TV crews?

Hello,
When I have worked on the broadcast side of sporting events with "Air support" we would generally talk to them to set up shots and the like on media freq's (450 / 455 band) with a network provided HT. They would have a dedicated channel free from the chatter most camera people listen to.
They would be on whatever ATC freq for their altitude and area. Never heard them on the helo channel here in Philly.

I suspect that they talked to their ground crew at the airport on some VHF or UHF channel but that would be infrequent once on site.
