Most the traffic was conducted on federal. Brief local traffic in initial page outs but after it was all done on the region 3 channels and federal stuff. All locals have the federal code plug zones as needed.

With the South Fork and Salt Fires ongoing, the Otero County and Lincoln County feeds are getting a lot of listeners.

On NM-DTRS, the State Police District 8 Dispatch, headquartered in Alamogordo, was busy the last couple of days with activity related to roadblocks, traffic control, evacuations, welfare checks, abandoned pets, and so forth.

I was listening to the A Mountain Site in Las Cruces, in a neighboring county and different NMSP District. Although I typically see the Alamogordo Talkgroup on a daily basis, along with Socorro and Deming, it's clear the local site doesn't carry all Talkgroup traffic. In contrast, the coverage on June 18 seemed comprehensive, and needless to say, very informative.

Units were probably affiliating out there or southcomm is simulcasting over that way turning it on or off. There was some d8 officers who live in Las Cruces and commute everyday.

There is gap issues so the traffic is being multicasted from the vhf and dtrs vice versa. Some areas still require the VHF use in d8.

Most the traffic was on r3 tacs, bia mescalero side all were active. Lincoln oes and fire as well as sheriff. Ruidoso has some hiccups the first couple days and the comm issue was resolved now they are back on rpd4. I should add because of this they were gifted some very nice Motorolas, a very large cache. I would imagine after this with the federal monies to come they'll be getting some updates in their base stations and dispatch.
