• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued.     The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Does anyone have any experience in using any of the Bluetooth speaker mics or other ear pieces with either the HT1000 or HT1250? Even the Moto product like the HLN3156A.

A couple of my guys are interested in using these, a quick Google search didn't give me many reviews.

I have the HT1250-compatible one. It's OK but not great. The special battery pack is kind of bulky and there's no way to attach a belt clip. The RSM will randomly drop the link sometimes requiring you to power down the radio and the RSM and resync them to get the link back. Plus, you can only use it with the Motorola-supplied wireless RSM. I believe that you can use a Moto bluetooth headset (normally for cellphones) with the one for the HT1000/XTS.

Moto actually cancelled the one for the HT750/1250/1550 because they had so many issues with them.

I have the bluetooth adapter for the Jedi (HT1000, MTS2000, XTS3000 / 2500 / 5000) and it works pretty good. I have an early version and i get an occasional popping / hissing sound. However its not bad.
The tough part was finding a good headset. Took me a few tries but i finally found one. I use it a few times a month. 99% monitoring, i rarely TX with the BT earpiece, but when i did initial testing i was told the audio was fine.
