The user manual for that device does not indicate a bluetooth functionality.

Those small adaptors do work for what you are trying to do, some better than others.

I have a bluetooth to 3.5mm "adapter" that I got for about $14.00 at a dollar store. I got it just to try things exactly like you describe. I was surprised how well it worked. My biggest issue was the battery life and the fact that it was not stereo (which didn't matter much when I was using it with my handheld 2 meter or my shortwave.

You sure the HT / shortwave was capable of even putting out stereo? I'd bet the bluetooth could, but the radios were monoaural.
