My radio is a Yaesu FT90R mounted in the ashtray.
I-Bus hacked via video module under spare tyre.
Memory/VFO mode switched using R/T on steering wheel.
Channel up/down or start scan via up/down on steering wheel.
Microphone activated via telephone button on steering wheel.

I am VERY impressed!

Hey, what is that blue toggle on the Passport lighter plug? Mine does not have that and I have never seen anything like it before?

"SWEET" is that the "in" word now? Or, what one says, when they don't know anything else, to say?

I think this setup is hip, cool, sweet, alvo, crunk, phat, dope, tits, ghetto, wet, ill, fly, B.A., kicking, pimp, hype, retro, all that, bumpin, amped, beastly, gear, swatching, slammin, chlling, kickass, tight, sweet sauce, bad, rad, mean, hot, primo, the bomb, killer, beautimus, stellar, rather excellent, awesome, choice, styling, outta-sight, farrrrr-out, gnarly, radical, *****in, wicked, boss, groovy, cherry, kick-in-the-pants, hopping, spiffy, shiney, fat city, swank, chic, fine, ace, butter, the cat's meow, A-1, bang up, the latest, neat-o, keen, peachy, swell, outta this world, capitol, golden, all the rage, copasetic, the bee's knees, bully, kosher, and last, but least not, un-reechy (thanks Shakespeare) all at the same time dudes, dudettes, man, and chicks. Ya dig me daddy-o? Don't be sore at me, I'm not a dope! Just don't get so aggro, it'l make people think you gotta tude! Yadda, yadda, yadda.

Actually I'm positively crackers about it, you are a brick.

My first reaction was that Oz2Way had posted the picture back wards, didn't use spell check when talking about the "tyre," and thought "isn't a bus what you ride to work on?" Then come to think about it, we look pretty silly to the rest of the world too.

What can I say that hasn't been said before (I Think ex-smokey covered the whole gambit of wording). But, this is why I like this site to come here and see things that I have not seen before, and ways to do thing that I have been thinking about.

Seeing the install in a BMW is so remarkable, it looks as though it was a full factory install (I think you need to get a patent before BMW takes credit for it). But, I was just totally speechless when I saw what a job you had done and include the diagrams to show where output is coming from.

Again, I'm seeing things I had never thought of before and it looks soo good.

Hang on a sec … you raped your factory installed hands-free set for use with the ham radio and are using a cheap after market one for your actual cell phone? :-D

hack value = wtf factor

Whatever – nice install! :)

Anyone can hack the I-Bus in either BMW, Mini or Range Rover...the systems are all the same.
I did it the hard way many years ago, these days you can buy a ICE-Link or IPOD your BMW kit and do it the easy way.

The blue toggle switch on the Passport smartcord is an on/off switch I homebrewed. It kills the Passport (as they are illegal here).

My BMW is an X5 (E53) turbo diesel which has been chipped 0 to 100 in 7 seconds, Style 87 20 inch rims, full body kit. Antenna is just a Diamond 2/70cm dualbander on the fender.

Thats correct........I also "raped" my vegetable patch in the backyard and replaced it with a 60 foot tower.

Tomato value = DX factor

I prefer to DX.....
