COLDWATER, Mich. -- Plans for a new emergency radio system upgrade for Branch County 911 Central Dispatch have stalled after Motorola said three or four existing towers would need to be changed for the 800 mHz system.

"VHS System"
I know it's supposed to be VHF, I'm envisioning a bunch of VHS tapes all formed together into an antenna. And since it's Motorola branded, the batteries run out after about an hour (am I the only one that has that problem?).

I am curious about the details on the sites/towers.

They should keep the VHF paging, as it is much more reliable.

Where would Motorola (or Harris and a couple more) be today if it weren't for grants and other unlimited taxpayer funds? I wonder if staying on VHF was even considered?

Sounds like this county has no clue what they are doing. And I would not exspect them too, when it comes to a large system.

Let the radio professionals do there job!!!!
