From State Patrol PA just now...

The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a three-vehicle crash resulting in one fatality in Boulder County. At 3:40 p.m. on Highway 119, near milepost 32, a 2012 Harley-Davidson was traveling eastbound behind four other vehicles. The Harley-Davidson attempted to pass the vehicles by crossing the double-yellow center line. After passing three vehicles, the Harley-Davidson attempted to return to the eastbound lane but collided with the lead vehicle, a 2009 Toyota Yaris.

The Harley-Davidson's driver was ejected during the collision, traveling into the westbound traffic lane. A 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser traveling westbound then collided with the driver as he lay in the roadway.

The Harley-Davidson's driver, a 29-year-old male from Westminster, sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was wearing eye protection but was not wearing a helmet a the time of the crash. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin; contact the Boulder County Coroner's office for updated information.

The driver of the Yaris, 59-year-old Irene Pritsak-Savage of Nederland, was not injured during the crash. The driver of the FJ Cruiser, 39-year-old Sean Slavin of Broomfield, and his two passengers also were not injured during the crash

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol acted as a contributing factor in the crash. Excessive speed is being investigated as a possible contributing factor. Highway 119 was closed at the crash location for approximately four hours during the investigation.
