Here's a little diddy I saw on a Dodge Charger Forum about scanning and a ASP Troopers response, someone at Motorola really did a good job on Selling them that system! Reminds me of the time I got nailed by a Ark Trooper in 96 for 65 in a 55, because I was the lead car and couldn't slow down in time. "I have Selective Radar" your Radar Detector doesn't stand a chance. "it probably didn't even go off did it?" I didn't have the heart to tell him it did, but there are times you just can't slow down fast enough. No Radar detector is going to stand up against Instant On Radar.

Hey manic, I don't think you were listening to ASP unless they were using a county frequency. We have gone to a digital trunking system that a scanner won't pick up. We have 40 Chargers on the road now, soon to be 90 more. I will be retireing my Crown Vic soon so I will have one of them.
Take care..

"Tee" probably posted that because that was what he/she was told when going through training on the new digital system. No snow job from Motorola, it was true at that time, there weren't any digital scanners on the market when ASP began using their digital system. Of course now all that has changed, but unless someone is up on scanning or has a friend who is, they are 'living in the past'.

I will concede to that.
Their system looks very well thought out and executed as far as coverage. I hope that ours matches it some day.

Uh, just came across this...

The ASP system works well, in populated areas, but they just seem to be hoping and
praying that nothing ever happens in the rural world.

Of course, its better than the old 800 system.
