Hello everyone
So I'm wondering if I can use any good DMR radio Traffic on my Boefang DM1701 radio scanner. I can't listen to like the police because they are on the countywide system for Merritt Island. I'm going to be looking around on the radio reference website

I understand you're trying to listen to DMR communications in Brevard County, FL. Looking through the database, Brevard County has many DMR systems.
The following are DMR systems in the database:

are you talking about ham repeaters?

or business stuff?

there are some UHF Ham DMR machines but I don't think any on VHF:

I'm talking about like the ports and busines

There are several opportunities to grab cruise ship DMR freqs from the various visiting ships - most of those are not documented anywhere because the primary systems on most of the ships these days are proprietary GHz range walkies. Every ship I've been on does have some DMR, usually for specific purposes - like security.

this is a good start for specifics:

the port has a couple of P25 repeaters (VHF) that see some use and there are a few businesses here and there that are on DMR (hotels, Ron Jons, etc.) -- but most of those are undocumented (sorry)

Looking to see if anyone has a file for Cruise ships, specifically RCCL on Utopia for ARC software or maybe even an excel spreadsheet? thanks

99% of the comms will be on their GHz band handhelds. Not monitorable. I could find no public listings for the Utopia.

I can nearly guarantee that the radio traffic/DMR that is monitorable will be in either the 457-458 or 467-468 bands.

Close call works great on the pool deck btw...

that said - beware. Some cruise ships do NOT like you monitoring their stuff onboard. Some have been known to not allow scanners/ham stuff through security during boarding. YMMV. I can tell you that unless you have a balcony room, you won't hear anything in your stateroom.

i would make sure you have working headphones - do not blast scanner audio in public.... and I am not sure I would take a radio off the ship during a port visit to prevent security issues coming back onboard the ship....

If I take anything on a cruise ship, it's an Airspy mini and my laptop. again, YMMV.

From the little bit of monitoring I’ve done from the port, 99% of the time it’s been a foreign language that I’ve heard

Not sure what Ghz band handhelds are and I did not program anything in, just used CC and heard lots of comms as you noted 457-458 and 467-468. Most from our balcony. It was mostly coordination for the stops we made in Nassau and Coco Cay. Some housekeeping and supplies. I should have listened from the pool deck but the people watching made up for that :)
It was no issue at all taking my 436 and SDS 100.
