Todd: I tried the latest firmware update, but something went wrong apparently. I am stuck on discovering device, and USB Disconnect, even a reboot, has not recovered. The device has a power light (no others), but shows no signs of activity at all. What can I do? I looked in the manual, and could not find the button reset I thought I remembered. What can I do?

Update: Device manager is detecting it as an unknown USB device with a device descriptor failure.

Update: found a post by PCman67 in which he talked about a 10-second (mine was 13) hold of the button while applying power. That got me back into flash mode, and was able to reflash to 0930-1053. The other firmware continues to brick the P25RX, so am wondering if that's a P25RX-II load I was trying?

Hi turnpike61 - same issue I encountered. We've been discussing in the DMR thread. Try this:

1) Power off the P25RX by unplugging the USB.
2) Hold the button in and reconnect the USB; keep holding the button in until the all lights are lit, then release; you should see the lights start flashing.
3) Now start BTConfig - I was not successful getting the new version to work so I went back to the latest stable and then to 09-30_1053 successfully.
4) I had to reconfigure my settings after doing this so you may as well, just FYI.

Hope this helps! I am going to stick with 09-30_1053 for now until this issue is confirmed fixed.

No, don't think so. It's listed for the P25RX (original).

Think it's just a bug with the new version that Todd didn't see (probably running in Linux with no issue).

Thanks so much Mike. I'd just figured that out by looking at an old post from PCman67, but still appreciate you weighing in of course. We should put this in the Tips and Tricks and in the manual. I didn't find it in there, but maybe in my anxiety over a potentially broken device, I didn't look far enough :)

Cheers.

Sorry about this. I will work on this until I get it figured out.

Please try version 2021-10-10_1057. I think I have the issue figured out. Once it is confirmed, I will work on making sure this issue never happens again. I believe the P25RX-II firmware image got mixed in with the non-working P25RX release (after I had already loaded it on my test P25RX unit).

Thanks for your efforts.
I can confirm I was able to load BTConfig-2021-10-10_1057. I really appreciate you figuring this out. I will report back on Cap+ performance in the other thread after things pick up with the Marathon tomorrow.
