On the ScanConnecticut group on yahoo and on CT-Fire EMS I happened to come across these changes relating to the Bridgeport Fire Department.

Channel 1 (Dispatch and Operations) 154.99500 (79.7 PL)
Channel 2 (Primary Fireground non-repeated)153.77000 (156.7 PL )
Channel 3 (Secondary Fireground)155.08500 (156.7 PL )
Channel 4 (Citywide Special Events)155.84250 ( 192.8 PL ) Special Events- Mixed Mode Analog/Digital
Channel 5 (Repeated channel for operations)
Channels 6 to 9 (non repeated tactical channels)

It's nice that the Bridgeport Main dispatch channel will finally be repeated.

Are these going to be analog for the time being? Isn't BFD going to an APCO 25 system soon?

You Might see it in 5 or so years but I would not look for it anytime sooner, No reason to do it

Im thinking they will go the way of FDNY, if the department that sees the most fire in the country
dose not use digital why would anyone else
They did a study on what's digital simplex fireground have over Analog simplex fireground?
and it was found to have nothing better.

Manny, from what I have heard on the digital side of Branford, its mostly administration and if there were problems on the analog side. Other than that, fire and EMS traffic is free and clear.

I really like listening to Bridgeport and hearing the trucks now on dispatch, though I do miss the fireground traffic.

They are in the process of changing PL's on Channel 1. When I find out what it is I'll let you know.
