the older 3161/4161's are notorious for blown finals, when that happens, you only get about 1/4 watt out, the driver power.
im pretty sure the 3261/4261s are based on the same RF design.
I have a spare 4261 and i keep it as low of power as possible when talking to minimize the chance of killing the final.
my main NXDN radio now is a Kenwood NX5300, a much better choice than any icom portable.
