Hello everyone,
I have a Pro-18 scanner, if I replace the murata 50E filter with a 50G filter will this improve my P-25 reception? Conventional p-25 is alright, but some simulcast trunk systems are garbled and that is where I am looking for improvement.

Thanks

Hi.

Just a heads-up... :)

Only *one* single set of 6 filters left right now.
6 pcs Murata Ceramic Filters 450 KHz 4.5 kHz bandwidth SMD

12 sets will ship on Monday.

When all has gone, they are shipped and feedback has been exchanged
I will de-register from here. I wish you good luck with the filters!

Jan-Erik.

Thanks for your prompt service and follow up.

Assume you will not be offering more of these in the future?

Well, they was part of 18 large cardboxes with surplus SMD componenent
from a mobile/radio developer who shut down a site. See my other items.
Also some other types of caramic and crystal filters.
That was a one time deal, and when gone it's gone.

As it turned out the last couple of weeks, I had probably been
able to sell them in singles for the some price... :)
But that is to late now, of course...

Actualy the *first* one buying them in this timeframe, bought
*10* and thinking that that was 10 filters, not 60. :)
We corrected that to 2 sets of 6 filters each...

So no, I will not offer these in the future.
Jan-Erik.

> Are these Murata brand filters ?

I don't understand the question.
Why would the reel say "muRata" otherwise?
Have you even looked at the eBay offer?

I kind of figured it may have been surplus. Good luck with the rest of your sales.

Might check out what else you have on hand.

Again, thanks for the personal service.

The last batch of 6 was sold a couple of hours ago.
I have sold on eBay for over 10 years and I don't remember a lost
shipment to the USA. But give it another week. Now, you don't get
tracking on a $2 shipping, so the best I can offer is a refund.

Hey Jan- no I was just teasing- I'm sure it will get here- and I am really not in a hurry for it. If it doesn't arrive it wouldn't be your fault and a refund would not be necessary. You have made a lot of people happy here! :p

That's fine. :)
I would also guess that not everyone that has got (or will get)
6 pcs of these actualy has 6 uses for them... :)

I have 10 uses (DON'T TELL MY WIFE) for them but only 6 actual pieces on the way. I have figured out a way to split 1 piece into two but I will keep it to my self for now.
But yes I am sure there will be plenty left over from most of us. We can share with others that may need 1 or 2 down the road.
Good idea Jan.

Results?

Just a friendly reminder to all undertaking this mod.

Please pass on your reception results here (good, bad, unchanged).
Don't forget to mention the modulation/system type too.

Most importantly, don't rush the job and save the original filter - Just in case you are not happy with the results and need to go back to stock.

I'm waiting on my order as well. For those that have done it how do the original parts react to heat? Are they plastic bodies? I plan on using a hot air station.

If yours don't show up I can part with one. I only need 4 and would like to keep one "just in case", so I'll have a spare.

Appears to be plastic, I used a desoldering station and had no issues with the original body deforming.
