Asking this on behalf of a Broadcastify Host that needs to upgrade equipment.
I saw a discussion a year or so back that mentioned that numerous other scanner brands/types had better digital trunk audio than the 396/996 series. I cannot recall what those devices are.
Can anyone help with that info.
He and dozens of listeners appreciate your input.
The system to be monitored is: P25 Standard
Thanx all.

It has been reported that the newer Uniden scanners such as the HP-1, HP-2, BCD325P2, BCD996P2, and BCDx36HP scanners decode some P25 systems better. I personally have the HP-2 and it does better than the BCDx96XTs on P25.

Many times it just depends on the system itself. You may want to ask / or have this thread moved to a state forum covering the location of his feed and ask the locals, who have experience decoding that particular system, which radios work best for them.

Thanx W8. I will pass this along. For some strange reason I recall "106" being part of the reply to this older thread but I could be totally wrong. I've heard largely good stuff on the HPs. I almost opened this in the state forum but didn't because the digital switchover just happened last week and we are all scrambling to try to get up and running. I'd repost this there but I believe that violates forum rules.

You could have this thread moved. Click on the red and white triangle in the upper right hand corner of your post.
Sounding more like a good idea, I thought this area would pull in a wider range of listeners and expertise. I'll give it one more day. Thanx for your instructions, I never explored how to get something moved before now.
