Some Bruce County Fire departments are looking to switch from Owen Sound to St. Catharines Dispatch for Fire Dispatching.

Thank god they didn’t go with Tillsonburg Fire Department for dispatch services. They are absolutely awful, poor training and knowledge of proper radio communication.

Halton Hills Fire switched to Tillsonburg for dispatching and they very often have to call a few times to get a response from the dispatcher!

I guess my question is, why are they switching from Owen Sound? Are they not satisfied with their dispatching services? Is the cost too much?

It's always about dollars and cents. This is all the money managers need to read:

" Using the 2021 census data, the cost would be $3.69 per capita, with an initial annual cost of $33,516 for 2026 — $450 lower than the town’s existing contract price with Owen Sound."
