In the meantime, here is what I can offer up.

159.720 - PL 141.3 - This repeater is in South Ottawa (Osgoode area) last I heard something on it, it was a bus line. Not sure which one, but one likely in south Ottawa. Tower location is in Vernon.

159.555, 162.510, and 164.310 are all licensed to Direct Transportation.

I had 165.435 licensed to First Student out in West Carleton, however it's not listed any more in TAFL listings.

165.810 and 166.545 I had licensed to First Student in Cumberland, however only 166.545 shows up in the TAFL listings now and licensed to First Canada ULC out of Kingston.

167.190 - Cassleman, 151.025 - Vars and 462.3125 - PL 156.7 - Ottawa, are all licensed to 417 Bus Lines,, 462.3125 last I had heard were school busses.

168.945 I had listed as Laidlaw Transportation, however this is no longer listed in the TAFL listings either.

173.490 I had listed as First Student - Nepean, however it's no longer listed in the TAFL listings.

460.1125 I had listed as Stock Transportation, however it's not listed in TAFL listings either.

Last I listened to this system, it seemed to have a bunch of bus lines on it.

Talkgroup 13 I have listed as a school bus as well.

This is all I can offer up. The Excel radio system is the one to listen to for buses.
Thank you !!! :) So direct me to one with a repeater would that reach Kanata.
159.720 - PL 141.3
Would that reach Kanata ?

I just saw a Renrfew school bus. It has a very tall antenna, so I can’t see why they can’t use a freq for when they are here. There is one freq in database under Renfrew/Ottawa DMR, so I would say that is the one.

32060TR & L Bus LinesR & L Bus Lines - BancroftTransportation
There is a Ottawa site

Here are the sties

Enter the Ottawa/Kanata DMR site

Go to Menu → System → Add System → Trunked Digital → DMR.
  • Input the site frequencies (or let the scanner “learn” the active DMR channels if you don’t have the exact frequencies).
  • Name it something like “Ottawa/Kanata DMR” for easy reference.

2️⃣ Add the school bus talkgroups
Press Menu → TGID List → Add TGID.
  • Enter the IDs you have:
    • 323996 – School Bus / Transportation
    • 539756 – School Bus

  • Assign them to the Ottawa/Kanata DMR system.
  • Make sure each talkgroup is set to Active.

Ai words

3️⃣ Enable Follow Mode
Menu → Options → Follow Mode → ON.
  • This will let the scanner automatically track buses across different channels in the trunked network.

4️⃣ Optimize antenna & reception
Use a high-gain antenna or place it as high as possible.
  • Line-of-sight toward Kanata helps a lot, especially for buses moving in and out of coverage.

5️⃣ Test
Wait for a bus to arrive in Kanata.
  • You should see talkgroup 323996 or 539756 become active.
  • You’ll hear the bus traffic routed through the Ottawa tower, not the Renfrew tower.

Which DMR should I program ? And the TG ?

I been monitoring the NXDN 48 buses but I’m thinking I am missing some stuff as other systems seem to be busier. I put the hold time longer on the other system but the NXDN 96 is busier then 48.
