I heard the rumor several months back - I'll believe it when I see it. Even the local RS guys aren't sure what up with the radio.

Yup... Discontinued "officially" as of 7/2. Price is still $149 (and probably will stay that way as long as they keep selling...)
It is being replaced by the pro-97.

Sorry but that pro-95 scanner didnt work for me!
That scanner was a big rip off. It couldnt even scan worcester,ma. edacs an mot. I'll stick with my old pro-94 at least that works 100% they should give a refund on non working trunk scanners on the spot! Piece of sh..t! :evil:

The scanner was not a "rip off", it was a decently priced, reliable TT scanner that worked as advertised. I didn't like it because I felt it was a step backwards in technology from the Pro-92 in most other respects. Yes it had CC only for Moto TRS's but it gave up LTR and had no capability for CTCSS or DCS for conventional channels. This last point is why I no longer have one. As for the Pro-94, well, it was a bare step up from the Pro-91 and was several steps backward from the Pro-92. Only the fact that the newer models can be programmed via computer has saved this POS from going the way of all dinosaurs.

In the brief (3 day) period that I owned one, until I found out it wasn't digital capable, when the RS guy said it was :x , I thought it was a pretty nice scanner for conventional freqs, and analog trunked systems (I've only listened to digital 9600).
It just wasn't what I was looking for. But then, I found my PRO-96, and fell in love with it.

W00T W00t got my 95 today, got the scanhack and had it scanning with in an hour gotta love it. Dang this is a nice scanner for 129.99.

Nope, never heard of that one. I haven't even heard of that area code. This is in 269.
I went back today, after noticing that everyone else had a significantly higher price, and it turns out they had it on clearance, and still do. The one I got never had a tag, and when I asked the RS guy about the price, he just said "80 bucks", and didn't mention anything about clearance.
That's the second RS screw up that directly affected me.

If the PRO-95 did CTCSS and DCS it would have been such a better scanner. It was a step behind from the PRO-92, but they made up for that with the PRO-97. Side note: that'll probably be my next scanner.

That was probably a franchise store (non-company owned) so they can set whatever price they want. (Although $80 is well below the wholesale cost...)
Why don't you go back and see if he'll make you a deal on a pro-96 for $199? :twisted:
