What ??? No airshow thread ? Nobody interested ? I haven't been scanning today, have the Snowbirds or other participants arrived at YYZ ? Here's some info, Greater Toronto Airports Authority - Travel Updates

Hopefully, in a few years when Canada takes delivery of the F-35s we'll have something new to see and hear ! I guess they'll wanna show 'em off, eh !

seriously the airshow freqs should be active tommorrow as they do the testing. They should be using the same freq as they have for the last few years.

I know that a least 3 of the Snowbirds are in Toronto, seen them fly over my work today.

Probably all the same frequencies as last year. Really upset that the Blue Angels will not be in the show this year, IMHO they were the best in the show last year.

Was at the airport on Thurs and observed 5 snowbirds parked at the shell station on the north side, also just off the Vangard service rd was the 2 ship Ëast Demo Team" of the american airforce F-16's , they were sitting beside a P3 Orion from Canada, as we watched them, the Canadian F18 arrived and was greeted by our soldiers with the F-18 Demo team. A Tutor was parked there painted in the old Golden Hawk colurs. my 2 cents

There is a Snowbird on the runway at City Centre, and the others are inbound from Pearson right now. Not sure which frequency to monitor on, I have been listening on the Pearson live feed.

EDIT 3:08 EDT - Two snowbirds are flying around over the city and waterfront. Sad little snowbird still sitting on the runway at City Centre Airport.

Edit 3:25 EDT - the full group of the snowbirds did a flyover of the city, then disappeared. The single snowbird at CityCentre took off an joined them.

It's possible that one at City Centre is the Golden Centennaire Tutor. The Snowbirds passed by my house at 10:30am in a diamond formation and the little one just a few feet behind them. Do you recall if it had a different colour scheme ?

It was the usual Snowbirds paint scheme red+white.

For the SnowBirds, don't forget to have 116.000 Mhz on your radio, also the following (for the Snow Birds only).

272.1 in use upon arrival to airport.

242.6 used by SB when performing

225.7 used to hand off SB to Toronto centre @ 135.625

Tried and true freqencies especially 116.0 Mhz

Are you sure it was a Canadian Forces P3 Orion? Canada has the CP-140 Aurora, which is very similar externally to the Orion but not the same.

There is a F-86 Sabre painted in the Golden Hawks scheme that has been around recently too...

il be sure to post what i find tomorrow if anything is new. I just got a GRE 300 and literally just now finished entering in all the various snow birds and viper 1 codes.

Anyone have codes for cf-18 or any of the other aircraft?

As heard on the EMS Staging B t/g ; "Airshow cancelled due to weather"

The Tutor at TCCA landed there due to incoming weather front, it was #10 jet since the Golden Centennair had a mechnical problem to be fixed, one of the two pilots on board #10 was the new SB CO L Col Maryse Carmichael, the other is a forner Snowbirds solo but now as the overall Tutor Standards pilot at Moose Jaw, they were practicing for the Heritage flight with the Corsair.

The two Tutors seen separately in the area are the two solo pilots doing show-line check, the smoke stacks at the west end of the city are gone now so they need to make some adjustment as the marker points for their run in to the show center.

A note of interest, the call-sign for the SB CO is "Snowbirds 99", in reference to the Woman in Aviaition group.

I've got it alpha tagged as such: STAGING B and when I hit the TEXT button to remove alpha tags, it would appear as 26544.

Looks like there will be a show today,though.

Well, that is to say... the TG isn't called Staging B anymore. All of those Main A, Tac B, Command C, etc... channels have been re-assigned to TGs of other names.

Unfortunatly, I don't have the new TG assignments. I just know they've all been changed. For example, the "Destination" channel is now called "B2", and the "Main A Tactical A" channel is now called "B9-Staging".
