Hello, I am experiencing some kind of problem with my Grecom PSR800, and wondering if anybody has experienced this problem before. For me it's not too much of a concern but, I would like to know if anybody has suggestions about this and possible fixes. I am using a standard Uniden micro USB cable which may not be supported for the radio, and I am connecting it to the micro usb port of my PSR800 so I can program the radio with the EZ Scan software. It does connect to my PC, however the EZ Scan software does not show that it is connected. And even if I try exporting my data to the radio, it shows "There was an error communicating with the scanner. Please disconnect the scanner from the computer and reconnect it to your computer and try this process again."
Because of this, I normally connect the SD card to my computer and export data.

If anybody knows why this is happening, mind if anybody can give me a little help to fix this issue. Thanks!

(This could also be a computer problem, but i'm not too sure)

What kind of computer? If windows, what version? Did you install the Grecom Serial drivers? (should not be needed if Win10/11).
Has it ever worked before?
Since you can read/write to the microSD as you said, it is not too great a problem.

I am using windows 11. I've never got it to work before with the micro USB.

Is this supposed to happen?

No! That indicates you have the scanner in Firmware Upgrade mode. Unplug the cable and see if that clears.

Cable is unplugged and the screen with the firmware upgrade stays on. I pressed menu and then the firmware upgrade mode goes away and the screen is off. I plug the cable into the radio without holding menu, and it turns on the clock. My computer and EZ Scan does read the SD card in the radio, but still unable to export data to the radio.

Does the time on your scanner match the time on your computer? If not, go to the Scanner/SD Card tab and click on Set Real Time Clock to Computer Time. If that works, you do not have a communication problem.

I did click "Set Real Time Clock to Computer Time" but it then says "Your scanner does not appear to be connected to your computer."

What programming software are you using. It should say GRECOM PSR-800 EZ Scan. If you are using another version of EZ Scan, you will get that message.

Have you tried using another cable? It must be a data cable, not charge only. Go to the device manager in Windows and try updating the driver.

I haven't tried using another cable, but the one i'm using should work because I use it to program my BC125AT and my BCD996P2.

If the cable works for the other scanners, it should be OK. I would try updating the driver in the device manager of Windows.
Hmm, assuming to update "GRECOM PSR-800 Device" it does not work. It gives me an error about third party digital signature things or whatever it is.

How to disable digital driver signature verification in Windows 11?

In the bottom left-hand corner, click the Power button. Without holding down Shift select Restart. As soon as the restart begins, keep pressing the F8 key to access the Advanced Boot Options. Use your arrow keys to move down the options and select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement.

Eyy, managed to update the driver, got the time setup and I am now able to export and data to the radio and from the radio to the EZ Scan software via USB. Thanks for the help!
