What sort of range does the new (?) system have? I remember with the old one you had to be pretty darn close to monitor it.

My listening post is 2 miles away from the casino, but I have monitored them on a portable with a duck at Devonshire Mall, solid control channel and 5 by 5 voice. Must be a good 5 miles anyway.

i am in forest glade with a outdoor scantenna and comes in crystal clear here, i have the same talkgroups as u have above also, oh tusker any luck with that cable?

Hawkeye, sorry I thought I told you, back to work Tuesday, I will shoot you a pm mid to late afternoon. We can hook up at Timmies, if that's cool. You have been listening to the casino, any idea what these little short four digit talk groups are?

Not sure, maybe perhaps its the section they are in the casino or perhaps maybe the "command base" for each section... i have a buddy that works their i'll ask him see if he knows...And yes thats cool for tuesday i do have tuesday off, just shoot me a pm to which timmies...I appreciate it very much...

what i find odd also is the one talkgroup id 1648 i know it is windsor fire ID but of course seperate system..

16840 i beleive has to do with pit bosses in the poker room, judging by the conversations

That's good to hear, gentlemen. I actually gave up on monitoring the casino a couple years ago, so maybe it's time to rediscover this system...
