Thought I would check and see if anyone has been tracking the Calgary UID#s
I have been following the Fire Department and almost have it completed.
I'm thinking of doing the EMS or City Police next ... if they are not done ???

Example: UID# 4750 = Engine 47

I have a complete list of CFD from the past few years.

When did you start your list as they are going through a major changes to all unit IDs at the moment.

I noticed a lot of units say they are changing CADs and TRUCKS lately ...
So I'll keep monitoring to see how the changes go.

I also noticed they have a mobile UID in the #100 - 600s ...
Then they have a portable assigned to the truck - case the officer is assigned a "TASK".
Then they have a portable for the "NOZZLE" guy
So lots of numbers for each truck.

Just glad they don't change as often as Police Cars ..
Not a lot of difference with the Police UIDs and Zone car numbers ... they are all just numbers
(or is there a system with them???)

From my own observations when I was back at home, some police UID's did not always quite match the unit assignment but most of the time they did. Cars, obviously, you may have taken notice, are numbered by their respective district eg. District 8 = 18XX District 6 = 16XX etc. :)

Thanks for the info ...
I've just started to track the Police ...
I wasn't aware of the numbering system ... thanks for the tip.

I have never even attempted to start CPS units - you have to realize they have a mobile and a portable radio. The portables are handed out when their shift starts and there is no designated portable to a unit number - so these will change every single day. The mobile radios will be more consistent, but there seems to be a lot more turnover on them compared to the CFD mobiles.

AHS units are equally as tough to capture. If you've ever noticed, all ambulances have signs that can be changed based on what station they are assigned to - so what you assign as Calgary Medic 5 for example may not be Calgary Medic 5 in a week.

Just a heads up.

Calgary UID#

I found this post from 2009 that Jay posted ...

An agency near me programs radios with the middle two digits being the station number and the last two digits being the individual radio or position, with vehicles being 01-49 and portables 51-99. Example: 704101 is in Station 41 and is a vehicle. 704153 is the third portable radio in Station 41. Furthermore, the first six portables are always assigned to the fire engine, the next two to the rescue or ladder or similar 2-person support truck, etc., so 704153 is always going to be the senior firefighter on Engine 41.

It really helps out ...
Thanks Jay

Do we want to start a listing of UID# since the Firmware update for the 396 and the 996 shows them?

Not sure how to start a WIKI ... but I have a bunch of FIRE UID#s to add.

Any Comments???

Probably a good idea. Some of us do the same for Edmonton Fire.

Are you sure the firmware upgrade gave you Id's for the 996T? I did mine but only noticed the volume control on the screen. I've since sold it to buy a 99XT so I can't check.

I'm wondering if the numbering for Calgary Fire is still the same if they have gone to 5 person crews on any of the ladders, rescues and tankers.

This should save you allot of time as what you are doing has already been done and posted. Im sure the file could be updated a bit. You will have to scroll threw the topic to find the 753F text file. http://forums.radioreference.com/we...624-calgary-digital-radio-753f-radio-ids.html

Thanks for the link ... it's a great help.

As you can tell Jay has put alot of work into listing all the info.
With over 65,000 entries he has put in weeks if not months finding the info to log.

I have tried to attach a revised file ... hopefully it will work.
(Called "Calgary UID#s.xlsx" ... it's a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet)
*** I had to change the file to a .txt file ***

I have highlighted the confirmed ones that I have found in "GREEN"
The ones in "PINK" are new ones I have found and listed
The ones in "WHITE" are old ones listed that still have to be confirmed ... in case they have been updated or changed
If the UID # is "GREEN" that means I have agreed on the talk group ... but have not confirmed the user.

Now let's see if this work ...
Feedback is appreciated.

I guess I couldn't upload an EXCEL file ...
So I changed it to a .txt file
Therefore ... there is no color.

If you open the file with Excel ... you can widen the columns to see the data.

Column #1 = UID #s
Column #2 = Previous Listings
Column #3 = Changes or Additions

Please feel free to make changes and Repost.
