Caldwell police and fire are now being dispatched by North Caldwell. The dispatch contract with West Caldwell is ended. For the time being Caldwell units will remain on their VHF channels that are already in the database. They have new equipment ready to be programmed for an eventual transition to NJICS. My understanding is that they will utilize the talkgroup that N Caldwell and Essex Fells share. All fire operations will remain unchanged.

Are you saying they are still on the Caldwell VHF or they moved to the North Caldwell UHF?

They are still on their VHF channel. Only the town dispatching them has changed.

I have seen traffic on what I am told is their TG 5297 on NJICS. UID 703xxx which comes back to Caldwell.

Yeah I saw that today and added them into one of my scanners. Guess I need to update some others now as well. Never ends.
