I saw on another website an article about "camden county regional task force F"..

This was a group mobilized for a structure fire with threat of additional structures being lost.

Anyone have any information on these?

Thanks

These are preset firefighting units, usually geographically based. In the event of a large incident, rather than having every fire station being backfilled, a centrally located task force will provide coverage. Burlington does the same thing, the state is pushing this concept. There are also task forces and strike teams developed for disciplines such as large diameter hose, tenders (tankers), wildlland firefighting, etc.

At 0013, Task Force "F" was dispatched into Waterford Township and moved up as a result of a building fire at 2136 Atco Avenue that was impinging upon and endangering two large single family dwellings. The purpose of the task force response was twofold, one to move an assortment of fire and rescue equipment into close proximity to provide assistance if needed and if assistance was not required to provide fire and rescue coverage for the areas who had depleted their resources in the effort to battle this blaze. Camden County Regional Task Force “F” normally consists of a truck company from Blackwood Fire Company (Ladder 84) three engines, one each from Glendora Fire Company, (Engine 812), Erial Fire District #6 (Engine 862) and Runnemede Fire Company (Engine 753) and a rescue company from Chews Landing Fire Department (Rescue 82). Due to the large areas in Waterford Township that have no hydrant systems, Burlington County Tender 2816 (Indian Mills Fire Company), was added to the task force for this assignment. No calls for service were responded to by the task force but at 0142 hours, Ladder 84 and Engine 753 were special called into the job to assist with overhauling the large garage that had collapsed. At 0152, Tender 2816 was also placed in service at the scene to provide the final water required to completely extinguish this blaze. With the tender now in service, the companies involved in establishing the original water supply were provided with the opportunity to pick up their hose and equipment and return to their quarters. The task force was released at 0250 hours. Engine 753 and Ladder 84 were released at 0300 hours.

I saw this on Blackwood Fire Dept website
