Question pertains specifically to the Metro Division.

While running errands 2 days ago, traveling east on rt 70 and turning onto Brace Rd (at Ponzio's), 2 Metro Div cars passed me by. They didn't seem to be in a big hurry (no lights/sirens).

I'm assuming (maybe wrongly) that ALL county police will have county-wide jurisdiction, but the Metro cars would be patrolling Camden only.

Can I expect to see similar occurrences throughout the county in the future? What about CC PD operating along side of township police? Or, swallowing them up (conspiracy theory:)?

Just a thought, were they maybe on a prisoner transport from camden city to somewhere out along 70? Were they having some type of work done on the vehicles? I find it quite common to see police cars quite far out of their districts. Again, just a thought.

I think you may have hit it. Didn't notice the make of the vehicles, but traveling down Brace Rd. leads to Winner Ford.

The County has made no secret that they intend to offer to all towns for CCPD to take over primary policing. When they will offer and at what pace hasn't been made public. I'm sure many towns, especially the smaller ones, will look seriously at turing over their policing to CC. Currently CCPD jurisdiction is no different than any local PD in CC. They have the same limitations as say Pennsauken PD passing thru Cherry Hill.
