I am hearing P25 traffic with a NAC of 293 on 142.3625, possibly from Camp Shelby?
Military traffic "Alarm Green, MOPP Ready" etc...

Has Shelby gone digital?

There's an exercise going on at the CRTC now. I'm here too. Listen for the ELM units.

Camp Shelby has been on MSWIN since I moved to the state.

What is CRTC?
Shelby Range control was still on 142.325 or 142.350 conventional FM until real recent, that is how I heard the digital traffic, I still had 142.350 in my scanlist.

CRTC is the Combat Readiness Training Center, aka ARNG, at Gulfport Airport.

Now that I've had some sleep...Camp Shelby range control IS still on 142.325 (210.7), as well as some low band freq I cannot recall. They also simulcast that on MSWIN on the two sites at Shelby.

There are at least 3 other VHF freqs in use there, for public works-type traffic, etc. Everything else is solely on MSWIN...Fire, security, constables, training, etc.

FYI the NG Youth Challenge Program no longer uses the UHF freq listed as them in the DB, so drop that one from your scan lists, and you can also drop Hagler Airfield since it's been 99% decommissioned except the ramp area (which is the drone base) and very sparse helo activity during AT.

I am hearing range control right now on 142.2 with a DCS of 122. Cant tell if it is Camp Shelby or elsewhere.

Sorry, been really busy. I heard this one today but have no clue where it's coming from. It almost sounds like skip is opening up a more local repeater. I spent most of the day in the far west of Harrison County/Kiln and that's the first place I've actually heard it from. There was someone going hot on a small arms range this morning, and at around 1700 I swear someone stated they were done with "the airspace".

More investigation is necessary.

Still trying to figure out the range. This morning it came in excellent but had faded by around 0900. Heard the 946th FRSD, a Reserve med unit from Mobile, going hot on a range, but the numbers were lost to static.

What's the best way to get an approximate range of a transmission?

By listening to it and gauging the distance from the transmitter?

Also, @fasteddy64, I believe it's going to be Camp Shelby we're hearing, via some local repeater maybe? I've heard them reference Shelby twice now, but other times not at all. Weird.
