If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello all,

Can someone help me identify this antenna connector type? I beleive it to be an (Reverse polarity) RP-SMA Female. I'm focused on identifying the antenna side of the device.

This antenna is for an Inrico IRC380 UHF model POC device, and im looking to purchase an aftermarket antenna.

Thanks in advance.

It could need an antenna that are made to do both GPS and 2G/3G/4G cellular as well as UHF and WiFi. I know that Motorola portables that have GPS needs a special antenna that handle both GPS and VHF/UHF. If you only are concerned about UHF then of course any antenna for that frequency band that fit the connector will do. It looks as if the antenna connector on the IRC380 are recessed like on a Uniden SDS100 scanner, so that the antenna cannot be to too thick at its connector, or fit a BNC adapter and use BNC antennas. But it is still unclear if it should be an antenna with standard male SMA or reverse male RP-SMA.

Since they don't mention anything about the antenna, other than it makes the radio user friendly, probably best to call them. Hopefully they are user friendly as well.

Looks like common SMA-M. Here is a webpage that might be of use

I have looked at the 380 in person and the UHF model in my hand had "standard" SMA connectors, not reverse polarity ones.

That said, it's a hideously expensive and poorly-made unit so I would avoid it personally.
