I justed picked up a Pro 92. I want to copy over some banks from my 97. When I cut and paste from Win 97 to win 92 or from Win 97 to Exel I cant get the columns to copy over right for the life of me. For instance if I want column 2 which is the freqs in exel and paste to win 92 they go into column 1 of Win 92 which is the name. I cant figure out. Please help.

Even better does anyone have the Regina and Sask freqs in a file for the Pro 92.

There are several issues at work here.

1. The PRO-97 can receive frequency ranges which the PRO-92 can not.

2. The resolution of the frequency is not as small on the PRO-92. For example; on a PRO-97 you might program 460.3375 which can not be exactly programmed on a '92.

3. The order of the MODES is different between the two. In addition, CT on the '97 is called PL on the '92 & DC on the '97 is called 'DPL on the '92. PL & DPL are trademarks of Motorola; while CT & DC are generic terms.

4. There is a column in WIN92 to mark a channel UNUSED. I think this is what is really giving you troubles.

I remember having problems with "cut & paste", so I did it a little at a time and hand edited what did not paste correctly.

Hi again. There is a free program from Don Starr called Win xx data converter that will let you convert one type of file to another. For instance I took that p 95 file that I made up for you to try and used the Win XX data converter program to convert it into a pro 92 spg file.

Here is where you can get the program http://starrsoft.com/

Good luck:)

Maybe you could try this file and see if it works for you. I only programmed in the control channels for the Saskatoon bank 0 and Regina bank 8 systems. I am not sure if the pro 92, especially earlier models does control channel only scanning. If not you will have to program in all the frequencies for each of those two systems.

Ah crap, I though that prg you gave me was a 97 file. Ill have to look. Iwill check this out, thanks very much!
Oh yeah the 92 does only control channel scanning. Actually for the 50 bucks I paid on Eaby for this old 92 it kicks butt for a backup/2 nd scanner.

I don't believe the PRO-92 newer versions do control channel only tracking. That is, all system frequencies need to be entered.

The attachment should help to convert win97 files to win92 via cut and paste in excel. I have not been able to get dpl codes, delay, lockout, or atten to cut and paste so those must be done by hand.

Unfortunatley that WinXX program only lets you convert files between 93, 95 p93 &p95 & p92 spg files.

It can be a pain making some of these files for sure.

You can't make a copy and paste between the Win 97 P97 file to any other format.

I had to use one of my p96 files for Sask open up Win 96
Opened up Win 95 and copy and paste from Win 96 to Win 95

That is how I created that Win 95 file you were looking for.:)
------------------------

Next I used that Win XX program opened up the program & choose files types, choose pro 95 (p.95)
Find the p95 file you wish to convert to Win92 spg file and open. it will go to the input file
Click on save as, in the save as box choose save as type pro92/2097 files (spg)
type in a file name choose the folder to save it in and click on save.

Confused  It can be for sure.

Hmm, Ok so if I were to download 96, cut & paste all my ID tags freqs etc from 97 to 95 then I could transfer to 92?
